Challenges Met

Carry out the work within the authorized schedule by replacing the inner inconel shell. The person in charge of the CNESST held two safety meetings daily throughout the shutdown in order to prevent work-related accidents.

Description of the Project

Carry out planned annual maintenance work on the calciner (rotary kiln):

  • Replace the inner inconel shell of the calciner.
  • Replace the bearing strips.
  • Replace pinions, drive gears.
  • Replace speed reducer.
  • Replace roller supports and guides.
