  • Val-Morin, Québec

The Val-Morin outfall replacement project aimed to increase wastewater treatment capacity by upsizing the pipe connecting the Val-David treatment plant to the discharge point downstream of Lake Raymond, protecting surrounding waters and preventing upstream releases.

The work carried out included:

  • Construction of a flow measurement chamber at the plant inlet;
  • Replacement of the bar screen and raw water pumps;
  • Replacement of pond sealing membranes;
  • Upgrade of the aeration system with fine bubble diffusers and new blowers;
  • Installation of a coagulant dosing system for phosphorus removal;
  • Addition of a disk filter and a UV disinfection unit;
  • Construction of a treated water pumping well with accessories;
  • Construction of a new upsized outfall pipe.

This project improves wastewater treatment performance, protects the quality of surrounding water bodies, and ensures environmental compliance of the facilities.

Project highlights:

  • First of its kind in Québec, the installation of a disk filtration system ensures effective wastewater treatment without requiring expansion of the aerated pond;
  • Execution of major interventions while keeping the treatment plant fully operational;
  • Management of strict deadlines imposed by the client;
  • Coordination of a wide range of processes and specialized equipment on a single site.
