of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Val-David"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Val-Morin outfall replacement project aimed to increase wastewater treatment capacity by upsizing the pipe connecting the Val-David treatment plant to the discharge point downstream of Lake Raymond, protecting surrounding waters and preventing upstream releases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The work carried out included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a flow measurement chamber at the plant inlet;<\/li>\n<li>Replacement of the bar screen and raw water pumps;<\/li>\n<li>Replacement of pond sealing membranes;<\/li>\n<li>Upgrade of the aeration system with fine bubble diffusers and new blowers;<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a coagulant dosing system for phosphorus removal;<\/li>\n<li>Addition of a disk filter and a UV disinfection unit;<\/li>\n<li>Construction of a treated water pumping well with accessories;<\/li>\n<li>Construction of a new upsized outfall pipe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This project improves wastewater treatment performance, protects the quality of surrounding water bodies, and ensures environmental compliance of the facilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First of its kind in Qu\u00e9bec, the installation of a disk filtration system ensures effective wastewater treatment without requiring expansion of the aerated pond;<\/li>\n<li>Execution of major interventions while keeping the treatment plant fully operational;<\/li>\n<li>Management of strict deadlines imposed by the client;<\/li>\n<li>Coordination of a wide range of processes and specialized equipment on a single
